Manhattan Beach is more than just a beautiful beach town. It’s an amazing community and home to some great local businesses. That being said, there are a lot of things to do. With October right around the corner, let's talk about some fun things to do in Manhattan Beach this fall. Let's dive right in!
1. Grab a Hot Coffee From Two Guns Espresso
Nothing is better than a hot coffee on a chilly October morning. Two Guns Espresso is the perfect place to get it! Right across from the beach, and down the street from El Porto Surf Shop, you’ll find this lovely coffee shop. Open at 6:00 a.m. almost every day. They have an amazing selection of coffee, tea, and food. Grab a breakfast burrito while you’re there!
2. Rent A Board From El Porto Surf Shop
El Porto Surf Shop has all you need to conquer the beach. Don't have a surfboard? You can rent one! Forgot your towel? You can buy OR rent one! October is a great time for beginners to get in the water and surf. The water is at a nice temperature and the waves are not too big. The beach tends not to be as crowded as it is in the summer. Surfboards aren't all they have. They have awesome merch, including hoodies, candles, stickers, hats, the list goes on. You gotta stop by just for the experience!
3. Ride An E-Bike Along The Beach
Manhattan Beach is known for the beautiful bike path that stretches along the beach. Nothing is quite as peaceful as riding a bike alongside the ocean. Luckily, you don't need to own a bike to be able to do this. There are numerous places in Manhattan Beach, including Helen’s Cycles, that provide bike and electric bike rentals. You can’t knock it till you try it!
4. Go To The Farmers Market
Manhattan Beach has been the home of the Manhattan Beach farmers market since 2006. Every Tuesday from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, you’ll find lots of families and vendors enjoying their day. With Over 50 vendors, there's lots of good food, produce, and services to choose from. Some of these include freshly baked pastries, hand-picked berries, avocados, and even knife sharpening!
5. Go To Dockweiler For A Bonfire
People travel from all over LA to have a bonfire at Dockweiler. Bring your beer, speaker, food, and loved ones to have a fire party on the beach. It's recommended to get there before nightfall to secure a fire pit. Just remember to clean up after yourself and don't forget your lighter fluid!
6. Aquarium On The Pier
At the end of the Manhattan Beach pier, you’ll find a lovely little aquarium. Entry is free! Inside you'll find all sorts of living sea creatures, as well as some whale and shark bones. Upstairs is a lab and you’ll see lots of jellyfish. Donate to support our little aquarium on your way out!
7. Sand Dune Park
Sand Dune Park is just that, a 100-foot dune. All you need is a little bravery and a boogie board. Children, adults, and even dogs hike up the sandy hill and launch themselves off the top. You can use a sled, a boogie board, or even a cardboard box. It’s free and very fun. Just take your shoes off, it's a lot of work trying to de-sand them after!
8. Hot Yoga
October can get pretty chilly here in Manhattan Beach. You won't be cold in Hot Yoga! Doing a yoga class in a 114-degree room is on another level. It’s intense but you leave feeling very alive and cleansed. Since it's right across from the beach, a nice cold plunge in the ocean is the perfect cherry on top.
9. Manhattan Beach Car Show
Head over to the 5th annual Manhattan Beach Car Show on October 1st. The Manhattan Beach Police Department is sponsoring this event. It's on Manhattan Beach Blvd from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. With free entry, enjoy eating and drinking at local businesses. Don’t forget to enter the raffle!

He will teach a class on tips, tricks, and different techniques for new photographers. All you need is your phone. Tickets are only $20 for this sunset photo fest!
